While watching the video focus on the following concepts:

  1. the relationship between studying beetles and evolution
  2. the development of new species
  3. the relationship between genetic make-up of an organism and evolution
  4. the role of beneficial mutations
  5. the role of habitat islands
  6. the selection for certain traits among breeders, such as pigeon breeders
  7. the importance of identifying new species

Quiz outline for Oct. 11

The quiz on Friday will include

  1. characteristics of life - make sure you can give examples of how different organisms do each characteristic
  2. Properties of water and why it is important for life
  3. The 5 kingdoms (Groups of organisms) know how they are unique or different from all other kingdoms
  4. biological molecules - be able to recognize the chemical (atomic) structure and describe how each one functions in life.

  1. calculate velocity, time and displacement
  2. explain the difference between displacement and distance
  3. plot a velocity time graph and then analyze it
  4. calculate acceleration, time and velocity
  5. use acceleration due to gravity to calculate time and velocity.
